- Ambition as Arrogance (Arrogance is Human)

Tell me this: if you had a baby – one of the most beautiful creatures of not only yours, but the whole world (in your eyes), one of the sweetest & loveliest beings in the world – wouldn’t you want your kid to have THE BEST things this world can offer?

The best parents? (And therefore, your desire to be a good parent, make your child grow and get stronger!)

The best education possible? You’d want that lil’ cutie to also be smart as hell, wouldn’t ya?

The nicest friends possible? Ones that are supportive & uplifting when their friend’s got the blues? Ones that will serve a good example? Ones that won’t lead him down the darker roads? Ones that will watch his back?

The best of the best dreams? I know this sounds absurd, but wait till you have a kid. You’ll want the best for your kid – even absurd things.

The greatest of the biggest-paying jobs? Ya wouldn’t want your kid to have a financial burden, would ya? I’ll even say this: you’d want him to become a millionaire, no, a billionaire, even!

You’d want your child, your creation to succeed, to be a child of superlatives.

Now, how's that different from me wanting the best?

You’re going to be pissed off because I’m someone else?

You’re going to be enraged because I, someone’s child, have big dreams?

Or because I – … I don’t know … – dream bigger…?

That is not arrogance. That is wanting to be better.

We are humans: it is engraved in us by evolution to get better.

Calling “getting better” arrogance – or even calling sharing thoughts of being the best, out loud, arrogance – is against evolution; it is anti-evolutional; it is anti-human. Do you understand?

So, stop being petty. Just get better.

– Oh, but this is very arrogant, no?
– Oh this? Yes. I mean this with the MOST. AMOUNT. OF ARROGANCE. AS HUMANLY. POSSIBLE.

Now please, excuse me.
